The theme for the meeting is “Bipolar Disorders: Advances in Understanding Around the Globe,” and the congress will once again serve as the hub for a plurality of fresh perspectives and emerging data from leading researchers and clinicians working in diverse settings around the world. Washington D.C.​, as the nation’s capital, also provides a unique opportunity for ISBD to come together with authoritative voices from the advocacy community to address the challenges around global mental health funding, stigma, and parity with other medical disorders.
